HOW TO APPLY

Our applications are submitted online through the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.

Supporting documentation should be mailed, in one envelope, to the following address:

For all materials, we require the use of our Mailing Label and Cover Sheet.
Please note: The Graduate Admissions Office will only accept regular mail, Certified Mail, UPS, DHL and Fed Ex deliveries.

If applying to more than one department, please mail a complete application packet for each department to the Graduate Admissions Office.

All application documents must be provided in English (either the original or translations of the original documents). If you are unable to secure translations to English, we recommend that you contact World Education Services.

Applications are due January 15th of each year. The Admissions Committee notifies applicants of its decisions on or about April 1st.

All applicants must submit the following:

  1. An online application
  2. College transcripts, including your GPA.
  3. Official scores of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) taken within five years of the application.
  4. The Krieger School of Arts and Sciences requires that any applicant whose native language is not English submit the TOEFL or IELTS.
  5. A short statement of career goals and why you want to study in this program (1-2 pages).
  6. A resume of your work experience
  7. Three letters of recommendation (at least one academic).
  8. Application Fee ($60.00)

Please note that the GRE is the required test for application to the JHU MPP program.

We cannot accept the GMAT or LSAT in place of the GRE.

The GRE and TOEFL Institution Code for Johns Hopkins University is 5332.

The GRE department code for Public Policy is 1903.

The TOEFL department code for Public Policy is 94.
