The Johns Hopkins Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) sponsors two programs -- the International Fellows in Urban Studies and the International Fellows in Philanthropy -- that bring overseas experts each year to the Johns Hopkins University for a semester or year of research and writing. Each international program sponsors a yearly conference in an international city. Over 300 international experts are alumni of these two international fellows programs.

IPS Director Sandra J. Newman introduces form Philadelphia Mayor Edward Randell, Washington, DC Mayor Anthony WIlliams, Balitmore Mayor Martin O'Malley, and Pittsburgh Mayor Thom Murphy for the International Fellows in Urban Studies conference in Baltimore. Click to hear Mayors' Roundtable discussion on the critical issues facing the nation's urban areas.
